Don't ever leave a pat of butter in the cup holder of your truck because you'll forget about it over night, it'll melt in the morning, and when you unplug your iPod from the car charger later that day and casually toss the plug in the cup holder that you usually do but that now holds a pond of liquid butter, you won't notice your $70 piece of equipment's submergence until the following day when you go to plug back in your iPod and wonder why there are grease drips on your pants.
Relevance to stage managing?
I stopped in for a quick bite at a party at the theater thrown as a thank you to the cast and crew following a performance. I had just enough time to grab a roll and some butter before I was called away to move my truck out of the loading dock, and thus leave the party.
